Joe Salley is President & Chief Executive Officer of Milliken & Company, headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Milliken is a leading, privately-held, technology-based company with businesses in the performance material, floor covering and chemical markets. Joe has been with Milliken for 20 years, holding a variety of positions. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2006, then as Chief Executive Officer in 2008.

Prior to joining Milliken, Joe received a B.S. in Chemistry from The Citadel and an M.S. and PhD. in Chemical
Engineering from Stanford University. He served as the Chairman of the Board of the South Carolina Chamber of
Commerce and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Citadel Foundation and the Society of Chemical
Industry Executive Committee, and the Board of the American Chemistry Council. Joe is a member of both the
Palmetto Business Forum and the Management Executives’ Society.
